The founder & our Studio - Workspace
- in a messy production day :)-
Hi, I’m Kat, the founder - designer and tailor behind Fitol Collections.
Welcome to my world of handcrafted, sustainable design. I started this journey in 2019/2020 under the name Fitolojio Workshop and rebranded in November 2024 to Fitol Collections, which marks an exciting new chapter. Now, I’m working from my studio in Amsterdam, and I can’t wait to share my story with you.
I’ve always approached my work from the perspective of what I would want to experience as a customer—what I would love to see, feel, and cherish. This mindset guides everything I create. For me, it’s about offering something meaningful, an experience worth investing my time and care into, and one I hope resonates with my customers in the same way.
Growing up in southern Greece, I was immersed in a culture rich in textiles and craftsmanship. My mother and grandmothers saved fabric treasures that told stories, and these early influences continue to shape my designs.
At Fitol Collections, everything is made with love and care—whether it’s just me or in collaboration with talented artisans. Each piece reflects my commitment to sustainability, creativity, and quality. I’m always open to collaborating with like-minded individuals, retailers, and makers who share the same values.
Personally, I’m not about polished perfection. I’m more often seen running errands in oversized clothing, balancing motherhood and business. This raw, authentic approach is reflected in my work, where simplicity and thoughtfulness always take priority over fleeting trends.
If you share my values or have a vision for collaboration, I’d love to connect. This is only the beginning of a new chapter for Fitol Collections, and I’m excited to see where the journey leads.
With love & flowers,
Katerina
The Makers:
"I am Yasar. I was born in Turkey in 1965. We are tailors from the family. My uncles (from mother's side) are also tailors. I started with helping my uncle during school holidays when I was 12. Later it became my profession as well. I am doing this job for 46 years. I moved to the Netherlands in 1986. I worked in different apparel shops. 15 years ago I opened my own atelier and I still continue there. I have loved doing my job for 46 years."
