PRICING TRANSPARENCY

Welcome to Fitol Collections! We’re so glad you’re here. Take a moment to understand how we price our pieces and what makes them special. 🌸

At Fitol Collections, transparency is at the heart of everything we do. We want you to know exactly what goes into the cost of your garment, so you can truly appreciate the care, craftsmanship, and sustainable values behind every piece..

Adapting to new realities

Over the past few years, global changes and rising inflation have had a significant impact on small businesses like ours. The cost of raw materials—textiles, threads, equipment—has increased dramatically, alongside the general rise in labor and overhead costs. This is a shared reality for all of us, whether you're running a business or not.

Despite these challenges, we remain committed to transparency, ethical practices, and sustainability. This page is here to show you the key components of our pricing, so you know where your money goes and why each piece is an investment in quality and care.

What goes into the price of a Fitol Collections piece (From Blanket to Beauty)

At Fitol Collections, every piece is thoughtfully priced to reflect the care, time, and resources that go into making it truly unique.

  • Raw Materials
We source rare, vintage textiles from across the EU—Italy, Spain, Greece, France, and the Netherlands. Each material is carefully selected for its quality, uniqueness, and character. Unlike mass-produced materials from factories or vintage wholesalers, we prioritize sourcing directly from homes, often learning the stories behind each piece. This personal approach ensures that the textiles we choose are not only sustainable but also hold a deeper connection to their origins.

For example, when we started in 2020, sourcing wool blankets cost around €35–€50 each, with linings and buttons adding about €15–€20. Today, these costs have doubled or even tripled. The price varies depending on the quality and rarity of the textiles. Everyday vintage finds are more accessible, while antique handwoven textiles—known for their exceptional craftsmanship—can cost €200–€400 or more to source.

  • Labor
Each garment involves 15 to 40+ hours of dedicated craftsmanship, depending on the raw materials and the vision for the design. We let the materials guide us—each blanket speaks to us, revealing what to include, what to mend, and how to cut for the best outcome. This process is anything but standardized. The cutting stage, in particular, is crucial, shaping how the original material transforms into the final piece. You may see subtle details preserved from the original textile or entirely new elements emerging.

Certain final touches, like buttonholes or intricate machine trims, are completed in collaboration with skilled local artisans. These artisans are paid upfront for their contributions, underscoring our commitment to fair wages and ethical production. From start to finish, each collection—or "drop"—requires at least two months of focused work to bring it to life.

  • Small Batch Production
We work in small drops consist of 10 to 15 pieces using vintage materials, which means each piece is one of a kind and production cannot be scaled like larger brands. This approach ensures exclusivity but also impacts pricing, as no two pieces are ever the same.

  • Overheads and Logistics
Running a small, independent studio involves costs like rent, photoshoots, marketing, branding materials, packaging, and shipping. Additionally, importing vintage textiles across Europe adds to logistics expenses, especially in recent years with rising shipping costs.

  • Taxes and Profit Margin
To sustain our studio and livelihood, we apply a modest profit margin of 20–30%. This allows us to continue creating responsibly while supporting our craft and ethical practices.

This approach ensures that our creations are crafted responsibly and priced fairly, reflecting the labor of love, time, and skill behind each one-of-a-kind garment. When you invest in a Fitol Collections piece, you’re not just buying clothing—you’re owning something truly unique, made with care and intention for someone as special as you.
